Bridges

A bridge replaces missing teeth with artificial teeth. Because they are custom-made, bridges are barely noticeable and can restore the natural contour of teeth as well as the proper bite relationship between upper and lower teeth. Bridges are sometimes referred to as fixed partial dentures, because they are not removable and are bonded or cemented to existing teeth or implants. A bridge can be made from gold, alloys, porcelain, or a combination of these materials. Besides replacing missing teeth, a bridge can help maintain the shape of your face and alleviate stress in your bite.

The success of any bridge depends on its foundation – the supporting teeth, gums, or bone to which it is attached. Therefore, it is very important to maintain the health of existing teeth, gums and bone.
