Bondings

Bonding is a conservative way to repair broken, chipped or discolored teeth. During this procedure, a tooth-colored filling, called a composite, is bonded to your tooth by your dentist. Composite is a hard and durable plastic filling that comes in a variety of shades and thus can closely resemble the appearance of natural teeth.

The bonding procedure can often be completed in a single office visit, and can significantly improve the appearance of a tooth. However, since the plastic resin used is not as strong as your natural tooth enamel, it is more likely to stain, chip, or break than natural teeth. Bonding typically lasts three to five years before repair is needed. Bonding is less expensive than other cosmetic procedures and many times can be a good alternative to veneers.
